CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

YOGA (GENERAL)

Yoga is an ancient science of living that anyone, from the very young to the elderly, can benefit from practising.  Each class builds core strength and flexibility through a series of structured poses (asanas) performed with breath awareness.  By gently exercising the muscles, massaging the internal organs and toning the tissues throughout the whole body, and by calming the mind and thought processes with meditation and relaxation, health is wonderfully improved.

YOGA (BEGINNERS)

No experience of Yoga is required for the beginners course. You will learn the basic asanas working with other students of the same level. The instructions and demonstrations that form the course will introduce you to the many lifestyle benefits Yoga delivers. Each course runs for 6 weeks with one class per week. Many students also elect to attend casual classes whilst taking the beginners course.

ANTENATAL YOGA

Widely recommended by midwives and doctors, yoga is the ideal exercise to keep pregnant women healthy and mobile.  Breathing, postures, relaxation and meditation techniques help you to handle the whole process of pregnancy, birth and afterwards with greater assurance and calm. These classes offer a balanced selection of poses, as well as meditation and relaxation. There is emphasis on working at your own level and honouring and supporting the pregnant body.

Remember, whichever class you choose, the body adapts slowly to new activities so it is important to train within your body's capacity at all times. However with regular and correct training your body will eventually reach a state of balance that will greatly increase your health and vitality.
